Another day, another step on the campaign trail for Chris Christie. Between squandering taxpayer dollars on ads featuring himself and fighting the good fight against same-sex marriage (a position unpopular amongst the people), nobody’s favorite Governor has put out a new campaign ad.
Here’s the video:
Complete with kissing a baby in the first second, being called “…bipartisan for the good of the people” in the next, and repeatedly using the word “bipartisan” thereafter, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has struck again.
As we’ve pointed out before, Mr. Christie isn’t really good for anybody, let alone an entire state. As those who have paid attention over the past year will know, Governor Christie has made some good movies (being critical of libertarianism) and some horrific moves (squandering taxpayer dollars). A few other things could have easily been forgotten, if they hadn’t occurred so recently.
Straight out of Politico, and from the horse’s mouth:
Republican Gov. Chris Christie said Tuesday that if one of his four children came out as gay, he would “grab them and hug them and tell them I love them.”
He would also tell them “that Dad believes that marriage is between one man and one woman,” he said.
In arguably the one good political move short of lying to audiences across New Jersey, despite his vow to defend so-called traditional marriage, he quickly changed his mind and withdrew his anti-marriage appeal.
Meanwhile, a real politician decided to officiate some of the first legal gay marriages in the state.
Whatever the score, the people of New Jersey would be doing themselves poorly by re-electing a blatant homophobe and reactionary politician. Despite what the ads say, Chris Christie has made it clear time and time again that any bipartisanship on his part is done only to serve him politically, not to serve the state of New Jersey.
